Sam has today joined the team to take on the role as Sawyer. Sam previously worked as a carpenter and has a huge amount of industry knowledge. We are now on the hunt for an assistant Sawyer to aid Sam in his role. If you think you are up to the challenge then please do get in touch. 

Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival

This weekend Shipshape East Anglian will be attending Yarmouth Maritime Festival alongside The International Boabuilding Training College ( IBTC). The festival is a chance for us to present some of our projects to the public and receive some general feed back.

It is a great opportunity for us to update people on the progress of the "Terrier" project and the future plans for her.

We will also present our Saw mill services.

The launch of Shipshape East Anglia (SEA)

A new Shipshape Hub has been established at The International Boatbuilding Training College (IBTC) in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft www.ibtc.co.uk .  The HUB will to develop skills and services for historic boating and create new job opportunities in East Anglia. The project is being funded by the Coastal Communities Fund. SEA have a number of projects underway and more to follow.

The first project is the restoration of M/L “Terrier” which will eventually be used as a water taxi between Oulton Broad and Lowestoft. Her build will employ two Shipwrights full time and two trainees. If you would like to follow her progress please see our blog http://seawatertaxiterrier.blogspot.co.uk/

SEA will also aid the start of a Sawmill at IBTC which will provide specialist cuts of timber for historic vessels and other industry needs. They will be taking on Sawyer and a Sawyers assistant. If you would like quote then please contact a member of the team.

The team so far consists of David Savill who is heading up the project as HUB Co-ordinator, Petra Potasse who is lead Shipwright on the restoration of “Terrier” and Jamie Stevens Industry Liaison Officer who will be the main point of contact .
